Heart to Heart
So many gifts of toiletries for SOS clients! Thank you to everyone who was able to contribute items, and to Sarah Wilson who sewed more than thirty drawstring bags to contain them. The evening began with a meal of chili and soup and other comfort food. Youngsters then created caring cards and filled 34 cloth drawstring bags for individuals.
UUSC Guest at Your Table

From October through May, RE teachers and other religious education volunteers are invited and encouraged to come in early the first Sunday of each month for breakfast of coffee or tea, juice, and muffins or other tasty treats. Children’s Black History Presentation, February 28
February is Black History Month and our elementary children, under the direction of Karen Lumsden, will present a tribute to some inspirational black women and men during the Sunday service.
Nursery/Playroom
Monica and Katrina welcome children to the nursery/playroom. The girls are providing a short class for those three years and older – a children’s story followed by a related UU
oriented activity.
One of our little ones has severe multiple food allergies and we request that no food products be brought into the nursery. Please place bottles or sippie cups not immediately in use on the top corner shelf or give to our caregivers. All such items should be clearly marked with child’s name. Thank you for your cooperation.
Elementary Class
Children in the Elementary Class completed their Travel in Time with teachers Carol Jackson, Marilyn Schmid, Barb Sosnowski, and Sarah Wilson. They now begin the second semester which will show them that peace and justice are In Our Hands. Teachers this semester are Gina Labban, Wendy Nolan, and Xia Wang.
Middle School Class
Middle Schoolers, already familiar with UU Principles, are learning more about UU roots in Jewish-Christian culture, different ways UUs create community, and the place of science and reason in UU religious life. Thank you Wendy Chessin and Betty Chessin, who taught first semester, and welcome to second semester teachers Dede Mathis and Kurt Schmid who continue with Traditions with a Wink. Members of the class are
enthusiastic about the JUUMP program which begins this month.
