Emerson Church Unitarian Universalist (ECUU), founded in 1962, is also known as the historic "barn church" due to it being an official registered State of Michigan historic site and a former dairy barn.
Our church is of the Unitarian Universalist (UU) faith, which has a deep and diverse history, dating back to sixteenth century
Transylvania and nineteenth century America (our Unitarian side), as
well as to eighteenth century America (our Universalist roots).
In 1961, Unitarians and Universalists consolidated to form the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA).
