The Worth of a Person

Money? What does it mean to us anyway? Power? Prestige? The easy life? We have a hard time separating the idea of all people have worth spiritually and people’s worth financially. That confusion has lead us to some disastrous public policies as well as some irrational thinking about ourselves and others. — Rev. Harold W. Beu

New Feature - Sermon Archive

We've just added a new feature to the Emerson website - an archive of old sermons. At the moment, there are only a few listed, but we will be adding more as time goes on.

Day of the Dead

Cultures around the world observe a day to honor the dead and recognize their presence in our lives. We will do the same. Bring a photo to place on our table of the dead. A cake and cider Communion will be served during the service for those who choose to take part.

Who Dies?

Stephen Levine asks that question, suggesting that we look at this self that we experience that must necessarily come to an end. And in the process ask ourselves, what does that event mean to us? I will do my best to explore and answer that which we can never really know fully.

Association Sunday

Association Sundays are a request by the UUA for all congregations to recognize and support, both in spirit and financially, the national work of the Association. We envision a day—an “Association Sunday”—during which thousands of UUs across the nation are simultaneously celebrating our shared commitment to Unitarian Universalism.

There will be a special second collection taken on behalf of the UUA.
